Each history entry has a date, title, category, summary, confidence level, and at least one source, plus a status where one applies. The research files hold the source catalog, valuation observations, leadership appearances, the definition of each research collection, and the log of research runs. The dataset and website code are available under the MIT License in the Stripe History repository.

Origins and early company
Patrick and John Collison built Stripe's first prototype in January 2010. Stripe launched publicly on September 30, 2011. Entries run from Patrick Collison's 2005 Young Scientist win to Stripe's early team in 2012.
